Due to heavy snowfall late in the season this year, a lot of the high alpine lakes are buried in snow. This made for some interesting conditions to get to this location in the dark, having lost the trail multiple times in the snow and bush whacking through the snow and trees.

The final push to the lake consisted of climbing a sheer 70-80 degree snow slope from an avalanche runoff. When I finally arrived at the lake, the water was flowing extremely strong due to the snow melt, and it was drizzling a bit. Right at sunrise the sun managed to break through and light the sky and peaks up. It was truly an amazing moment to witness.
