Sculpture garden, National Art Gallery, Canberra, Australia.
The sculpture was commissioned by the Gallery in 2004.

The artist is Dadang Christanto
The correct title is "Heads from the North"
This following text is taken from an inscription at the sculpture.
"Heads from the North" is a memorial to those affected by events following an unsuccessful military coup in Indonesia September 1965.
The brutal suppression that followed had devastating consequences for the Nation, leading to mass killings in late 1965 and early 1966.
Dadang Christanto (the Artist) was an innocent victim: the eight year old's father was among the many who disappeared at the time.
Barely holding their heads above water, the sixty-six sculptures signify lives lost and ravaged in the year 1966."
