Yes, I've only seen one in the wild in Ontario and I didn't have a camera at the time.

This animal is at the Muskoka Wildlife Centre, near Gravenhurst Ontario. This particular centre is a home for many animals that have either been injured while living in the wild or were, and I know this will sound incredible, someone's pet. This is not a zoo but rather a place for these animals to be cared for if injured and possibly reintroduced into the wild. They live in large natural areas which admittedly are fenced but they would all probably be dead otherwise. The Cougar's name is Kokanee. This image was my attempt to photograph a Cougar in "the hunt", which it was certainly doing .. to me. I was crouched safely on the outside of a chain link fence with my lense through the links and in that posture Kokanee saw me as prey and I got the image I wanted.
