When built in 1970, John Hancock Building in Chicago was the second tallest building in the world after the Empire State Building in New York, and today is the sixth-tallest in the United States. The building is an architectural icon with its distinctive structural expressionist style with dark, brushed-metal tones and X-braces on the exterior. On the sky deck of the building is the Observatory - where I took the photo, which allows an amazing 360° view of the city, up to four states and over 80 miles in clear weather conditions. My photo didn't have that luck - and mainly because it was hazy and just before dusk. Regardless, the view from the 94th floor was priceless, and the sunset (not captured here) - mesmerizing. The capture shows view to South where you can notice Gabi in the foreground and spot some of the tallest buildings in the United States in the background - Trump Tower and Willis (formerly Sears) Tower.
