A winter sunrise from Saint's Harbour on Guernsey's west coast.
I must give a very big credit to local photographer Nick Despres for inspiring this shot. Nick is a real pioneer of seascape photography, taking beautiful large format images, long before the digital revolution, and before I had any interest in photography!
Anyway, I really liked one of his photos from this location and wanted to make my own version, with the waves breaking over the platform. This is the result of a lot of attempts to capture just the right conditions of light and tide. I still think Nick's original shot is better, though!
