Gosh it has been a while since my last upload and for this I apologise. I've been away on holiday and I thought I would work hard on working through my portfolio and editing so I can get a few images ready to upload and of course get out while the weather is grand to get some new images.
Since my last upload you may remember I was thinking about getting a new lens, well I got it. I got the Sigma 10-20 and this image was taken with it. I am very pleased with the initial results and it feels a very versatile lens as many of you said it would be :-). Thanks to all those who advised me.
This image was taken up in Scarborough, North Yorkshire during a recent trip up North. Little bit of a story behind this image. All week prior to this image the weather had been great in Scarborough with great sunsets in the evening. Me and fellow photographer and friend Mark Hepples (aka as Camelkegs on Flickr) went out the day before this image was taken and no sunset!! The clouds descended and left a thick blanket everywhere. We decided to persevere but with no luck we made use of the available conditions the Yorkshire Coast offered us, until the rain came and then we called it a day. (I really should get that Chamois that Doug Chinnery suggested) I did manage to get some long exposure images with my Lee Big Stopper so it was good for that :-).
We decided to go out the next evening and was a completely different world. The sunset was alot better although we would have liked the sun to be a bit higher but at this time of year it wasn't going to happen. So glad we went out again and got the sunset we wanted. I do have a colour version of this image which I will upload in the coming days but I thought the reflections and the tones of the water, sky and clouds came out better in black and white.
Hope you all doing well and I am looking forward to trying to get round to commenting on your work :-).
