I had only met the woman that would become my wife for a few days when she invited me to join her and go to the sea together. And well, I never leave without my camera so at some point we discussed about photography and I started falling (or rising rather...) dangerously in love with her. She agreed to model for me for the first time and we started to improvise on the sandy beach for a while as the sun began to set behind her. This photograph is dear to me because it captures this moment when you don't completely know yet if a new relation is a blessing or a curse, if it will bring good or tear your life apart. When you feel much more than you know and yet everything you discover is your only chance to actually meet that person before your judgement is clouded forever by those feelings. How amazing it is that just meeting someone can completely turn upside down the chemistry of our body, induce fantastic imagery and hope in our minds and in the end completely change our lives is something I'll never quite take for granted or even get used to. I was very ill at that time but for the first time in years I looked at that photograph after finishing it and I thought to myself: "Everything is going to be all right, I can feel it. I can feel her!" So I hope you can too...
