The last two years (2010 and 2011) have not been good wildflower years at Mt. Rainier, but this year was amazing.
This particular shot was taken just after sunrise. After we had hiked up the trail in complete fog we didn't have high expectations that Rainier would even show up, but the clouds briefly parted just in time.
