Driving from Italy to Austria, we passed countless castles and fortresses, but this one ( The Festung Hohenwerfen) was the most enchanting of all, with its clifftop perch, manicured lawn, and creeping mist. Clint Eastwood/Burt Lancaster fans may recognize it as 'Schloss Adler', from the 1968 film "Where Eagles Dare".
