I photographed this Jaguar (Panthera onca) during the first hour of my jaguar photography tour last year. We first found a gorgeous King Vulture (Sarcoramphus papa) landed at a beach at the edge of the river. For sure there was a fresh carcass nearby, as these vultures don't eat rotten meat. But what killed whatever was dead back in the trees? A few minutes later we found the answer, as this big Jaguar materialized in the dense vegetation behind, letting us know that he or she wasn't going to give up the prize that easily.
