Whenever, I mention to people that I’m from India, one of the most common reactions that I get from people is “you have such amazing colours!”. No other place in India is more colourful than the state of Rajasthan. Home to the Rajputs in the medival times, the landscape of this part of India is dotted with forts which hold intricate decorative facades that were so common in Rajput architecture from the era. One of the best examples of Rajput architecture is the Maharaja Mansingh’s Palace in the Amber fort in Jaipur. The windows of the living quarters look out to the Jaigarh Fort perched on the hills beyond and make for a remarkable frame around the landscape of the local town.
