Finally I saw him---the musk oxen, the species that survived thru the last Ice Age, the contemporary wooly mammoth, my dream species to see. It was definitely a memorable sighting, where we hiked for a mile thru the wet tundra in freezing cold and guzzling wind to photograph them. Here he was shaking in the wind. Here you can see the thick fur that enabled them to survive thru the extreme cold.
