A bison sleeps in Yellowstone for so long that a blanket of snow forms over the top of it. This is actually a 4 shot pano, as I only had my 600mm to hand but wanted to show the surroundings of the Bison but it was too windy to take the 1.4x off. The nose looks like it has white sprinkles on it, but this is actually the snow being whipped up as it was quite windy. Not long after I took this shot, the tree I was under had all the snow blown off, giving me a snow blanket of my own!
