For those of you who follow my photos on a regular basis, you know that one of the places I visit several times a year is this place - the Moulton barn on Mormon Row in Grand Teton National Park.

The one thing I've found is that so many things have to happen to give me what I consider a truly "special" shot of this iconic place.

The light has to be just right so the Teton mountain range is fully illuminated without being washed out.

The clouds have to be overhead but not obscuring the peaks. Ideally there would be a low clouds or fog laying on top of the Snake River at the base of the mountains, but not too high to block the view of the mountains.

And the wind has to be quiet so you get little movement in the brush in front of the barn.

And on top of that, you hope there has been enough rain so that the little stream to the north of the barn has water in it.

When all those things come together at once, then I consider myself VERY lucky to be standing there with a camera in my hands.....
