This day in January snowed at central and northern Arizona for about 20 straight hours. We had permits for "the Wave", we barely made it to the Grand Canyon village. We got "stuck" there for 2 days until the roads opened again. This image was taken from Hopi Point overlooking the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff. At center you see Humphreys Peak, the highest point in the state of Arizona at 12,633 feet /3,851 meters in elevation. For a few minutes the sun broke through the clouds and the golden light bathed the peaks... then darkness and bitter cold covered us again.
