I posted the b&w version of this image last week. Since then I received a few emails and comments asking me about the color version. I particularly still preferred the b&w if I had to choose, but I also like this one for different reasons...
I was lucky enough to have had many opportunities to reach "the Wave", but only actually did it twice due to extreme bad weather. The weather in that region is completely unpredictable, so we started the hike early in the morning (May) with cold temperatures, it got pretty warm, at mid-afternoon an enormous storm moved in, overcast and extreme cold returned. Then it rained for 45+ minutes, we had hail, then it got very dark and the rain started to move out. Right there I knew I had one chance to try a long exposure in this location. It took me a few tries until I got this one (combo of 2 ND filters of 0.9 and 0.6 factors).
