I've been trying to get a shot I like of Proxy falls for years. I've visited three times now. The first time, I brought my digital camera and shot hundreds of photos, hoping one would come out without a bunch of spray spots. It was in June, which is snow melt season, and the intricate details were covered in a wall of water. The next time was a year and a few months later, and somehow I came away with nothing I liked. I was extremely tired from backpacking that week, with Proxy falls just being an add on hike at the end.
This august I took the hike to Proxy Falls with the new setup, my 4x5 camera and a 90mm lens. I didn't feel like shooting the digital, so I brought this one camera and one slide of Provia loaded in the holder. I thought about the shot I wanted, set up, took the photo and then sat back to enjoy the scene.
It's amazing how photographical process changes over time and experience.
I've been absent all summer, out shooting. I have a LOT of work to process yet!
