With nearly back to back workshop/tours for the next 3 months, starting next weekend in Glacier National Park, then off to Oregon and then back to the SW I am REALLY getting ancy to get out from behind this computer and get back to Glacier after nearly four years being away! Glacier NP is certainly one of the most incredible places on the planet to photograph (and a huge favorite of both my wife and I, and the dogs!) and after my responsibilities are finished I intend on doing a week of solo back country hiking to target waterfalls with mountain vistas in the background.
This image (this is a re do) was shot way back in 2004 during one of the better light shows I have seen there (back then it was a pretty bid deal to stitch an image to a whopping 12-20 mega pixels!). This is at Pray Lake near Two Medicine Lake with glorious Sinopah Mountain (8,271 feet) in the background. A common place to shoot because of its obvious photogenic qualities... This year I hope to shoot the area with the Hasselblad H4D (40,50 or 60) and if I am fortunate enough maybe do a stitch in the 100-200 mega pixel range! Times sure have changed!
Anyone who shoots landscape and has yet to go to Glacier simply needs to go! They will likely never be the same again.
