Ameles Decolor:
It is a mantis small (2-3 cm), with a livery that goes from beige to gray.
The eyes are globular and without apical tubercle. This character is used to distinguish this species from congeners Ameles picteti instead has eyes conical, with an apical tubercle more or less developed.
The trunk is long and thin (character that can be distinguished from congeners Ameles spallanzania that has short and square).
Females are brachittere (ie with vestigial wings) while males have two pairs of wings working.
The front legs (legs raptatorie) are stocky and sturdy, the rear are well developed and equipped with large femurs that allow them to make long jumps.
The abdomen of the females is swollen and upwards.
