This is a nature reserve that I went to quite a lot last summer but this time round there had been heaps of rain and the way to the lake had turned to marshland. We optimistically tried to squidge our way around the edges and use tuffets of grass as stepping stones. HA. Within three steps the cold water and mud had oozed into our squelching shoes. *shudder* I don't think my feet will ever forget the feeling of swamp.
