Another from the Open House London 2012 series and again from the Angel Building. This is such a photogenic building and works great with wide angle lenses. Also people have been asking me to upload this one as they saw my mates Mark Hepples image of me taking this image :-) however there was a reason I have not uploaded straight away after Open House.
I have been really looking forward to processing this image however it was a bit difficult one to do. I kept editing it and not been happy with it until this edit which I am very happy with. The reason is that if you don't quite have the image lined up with the fisheye when taking it everything else in the image is slightly out when it comes to post processing. Here I had to line the sculpture and all the other lines up together and I think I just about managed to pull it off, only had to slightly straighten in Lightroom.
Colour didn't seem to work in this instance so back to Silver Efex Pro 2. It really brings out all the detail and does the building justice. The black, pointy thing you see in the middle is a sculpture which is bang right in the middle of the hall or atrium. Its called "Out of the Strong Came Forth Sweetness" and stands 5 double decker busses tall and made out of carbon fibre. Its to represent treacle falling off a spoon from a height and when I first saw it this is what I first thought it looked like.
