Near Streaky Bay
South Australia
These 'haystacks' are located 40km southeast of the town of Streaky Bay on Eyre Peninsula. They are a collection of odd looking granite 'inselbergs' which seemingly arise out of nowhere from the landscape. The evening I drove down here gave a short window between last light and moonrise during which I tried a few different compositions. The Milky way unfortunately was very high overhead! The lighting in pitch black was done with a torchlight waving frantically for 3-4 seconds of the exposure
