Most of the time I'd want the stars to be still in a shot like this, but the subtle turning combined with the meteor works here - creating the feeling that everything is in motion around the solid mountain

I'm thinking f/4 was wide-open. So, probably the 17-40mm f/4 L lens was used. It would be better to have a faster lens, say f/1.4-2. That would have enabled a shorter exposure. Anything over 30 sec. shows star movement, hence the blurry stars in this image.
Gorgeous scene, though!

Nicely done Darren! Interesting aperture choice, but maybe that's pretty standard for stars. I don't have that much experience with it.
