I worked on this earlier today using quick selection and refine edge. Gotta be honest, I think refine edge stinks. I've watched and practiced with tonnes of videos and files since CS5 came out, and it's always 'Cleanup in Aisle 5'. Pen tool and channel mask/apply image for the hair works better a lot of the time. In this case, the hair is actually a well tended wig, so there wasn't even flyaway hair.
Anyhow, I feel I'm getting better. I got a few HDR shots yesterday to use as backgrounds for future comps, so I'm not trying to fit 21MP files onto 8 MP files :)
Did I mention Photoshop crashed 2 hours in, and I hadn't saved? Wonderful.. it took an hour this time though...
