Not sure about the mountain but the sky sure had a couple boozes. It was like Northwest rain squared.

Dude. It looks like your mountain is peeing... and it REALLY had to go.

Several reasons... first, one shot. Second, freeze flowers without sacrificing quality by shooting a higher ISO. The falls are pretty exposed, lying across the valley of the north face of the Matterhorn and above the lower portion of the Zmutt glacier, thus being windy all the time. Third, storm breaking over the ridge. As soon as I turned my back and was maybe 500ft. into my way back, a lightning hit the ridge behind the falls. Fourth, at the time of shooting, I figured 1/6th of a second would be enough to allow some juicy detail in the falls.

Dave, can I ask why you didn't close down more and allow a longer shutter?

David, I am telling you, Zermatt ain't a no-brainer. Even though this hike up to the falls is classified as "easy", it's a 5.6 mile trek, steadily climbing uphill over 3,100ft. Nothing for the relatively untrained and out of shape me. Ha! I made it though. 7.5 hours total, 5hrs up, 2.5 down with a friggin big thunderstorm literally chasing me down.

Jesse, it is 1/6s at f/14, ISO 100.

nice! this is some angle. this hill/mountain looks steep! nice shot though. I like this comp, and the silky smooth waterfall looks great.
