Siddhababa was often the first tiger seen on entering Bandhavgarh reserve; she was always the last we saw on any visit - as if she were ensuring our safety for the journey ahead. She had one of the most photogenic faces, and always seemed pleased to present herself. We saw her as a young tigress; we saw her with her cubs - fathered by BBoB (Bamera); and we agonised with her as she developed a terrible limp.
Eventually she succumbed after a territorial dispute, hampered no doubt by her lack of mobility. Her cubs were still at a tender age, their futures in the balance; but they survived as far a we know, with the help of their father, BBoB (Bamera), who allegedly demonstrated rare paternal instincts.
