It used to be that standing along the shores of what seemed to be another world was one of the only places where I felt peace. I have come to understand, however, that when I ask God to give me peace, even if I am in a moment of distress, He is ready and willing to provide for me. Understanding this and having it become a reality in my life has been truly indescribable.

Here, you can see the moon setting on the south western horizon of Lake Huron. I have learned that short light wavelengths get scattered much more than long wavelengths...the visible regions we see range from 0.4 micrometers (blue) to 0.7 micrometers (red)...and so blue light becomes scattered where red doesn't (to the same extent)...leaving the moon with the color you see in this scene.
The light pollution over the treeline was intensified on this evening because of the atmospheric conditions - humidity being the main factor.
I waited until the moon had almost dipped below the horizon for this shot so that Milky Way would appear in great strength...rather than having its light washed out from the glow of the moon
