In my series Figurine I explore the periphery of fashion photography by employing unconventional static poses and gestures that attempt to depict my subject as living sculpture.

Using a claustrophobic domestic interior space as a studio I aim to place emphasis on introspective thought and desire mediated through a seemingly disjointed figure.

Body, light and location combine to craft aesthetic forms that are appealing yet unsettling. Lighting has been purposefully chosen to depict a moment of disclosure in order to induce a sense of disorientation.

The muted colour of the photographs emphasises anxiety and banality in equal measure that together suggest something disturbing has taken place. Impressions of isolation and social inability are prevalent and acutely apparent whilst embodying an element of ambiguity.
