I'm not accustomed to taking this kind of shot (as you might have noticed if you visited my gallery).
Actually, this is the second panoramic shot that I'm supplying to my 52 project. I took it yesterday while I was caching up with a good friend of mine.

This just one image but I'm gonna tell you about the technique you asked about. :)
What you can do is take indeed several photos (using a tripod is highly recommended) and merge them all together using Photomerge for example. Then you apply any desired processing technique to the final image using LR or what you're accustomed to using. That's it!
