Bean this is the name of this male American Kestrel. American Kestrels often perch on power-lines, telephone wires, and roadway signage.

As in most other species of raptors, the female kestrel is larger than the male-- but unlike most other raptor species, American Kestrels are sexually dimorphic in colour, which means that the males and the females have very different markings.

Shot from workshop organized by Raymond Barlow at the Mountsberg Raptor Center. Located about 1 hrs west of Toronto, the Center is a place where they rehabilitate, breed, train injured raptors.

Raymond's workshops are definitely a great experience for anyone, pro and non, that would like to spend few hrs learning about wildlife photography .. and why not, getting to know better this amazing creatures. Raymond's work can be see here.
