The Mountain Gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is found in only two locations: within the Virunga Massif (a forest area on the border of Rwanda, Congo and Uganda) and in the Bwindi impenetrable forest of Uganda. With an estimated population of 790, the Mountain Gorilla is listed as critically endangered.
