Early Autumn reflections at Braies Lake, Dolomites, Italy.
The alpine lake of Braies springs out at the end of the namesake valley, at about 1.500 meters above sea level. This valley comes off from the most known Pusteria Valley (South Tyrol, Italy), when you meet the little village of Villabassa on your right. All this area belongs to the Natural Park of Fanes, Sennes and Braies. The considerable depth of the lake gives to the water this unique green / dark blue color. Last time I was there (the end of september), fall's colors started to show off shyly. There was no wind at all, too, because it was late in the afternoon, therefore the surface of the water was calm and smooth, and the reflection of the trees was almost perfect. On the right you can spot the tiny and charming church (Marienkapelle) which rises along the eastern coast. This is definitely an easy and approachable destination to take some nice shots of alpine landscapes.
