The conditions as always are very dark where these Canadian Timber Wolves are but this particular wolf was enjoying a small mammal lunch. Wolves are amazing animals. I watched Natural World about a wolf called Storm who was HUGE! Seeing this scene which I captured reminded me of how wolves hunt their prey. Storm could bring down a ton bison nearly on his own but it was never a clean kill. The prey would be disabled and then the pack would wait for it to die. Nature is cruel to watch sometimes BUT what saddened me far more was at the end of the programme they showed a huge oil refinery a few miles down river, the river the wolves stayed by.......
