Guess how happy I was that morning as I stood there in the wet green grass whitnessing the first light behind the mountains and the fog in the valley below. I shot this photo some month ago at one of my favourite places here in germany. The evening before was a heavy thunderstorm and much rain but when I was looking out of the window an hour before sunrise the next morning I was greeted by soft fog over the land and beautiful skies with some clouds. I knew this could be a great sunrise and I wasn't dissapointed. The colors really were very vibrant that moment I took the photo, the magenta clouds in the sky lasted only for a short time but I was ready to take the shot. Soon after this the fog spread and I was completely engulfed in it.

I used a polarizer here to get more vibrant colors + a lee 0.6 hard Gnd for the sky. Postprocessing was mainly luminance masks and contrast + I admit it some saturation to give this photo the lively and refreshening look the scene had this morning...

cheers
