Rilind, I was just talking about "stacking" while in Penn Camera yesterday here in McLean, VA with one of the sales associates. I was talking to him about my Canon MP-E 65mm lens and how shallow the depth of field is when at 3-5x magnification. He told me that I need a rail system. I said that I have one but insects aren't going to wait around for you to use that thing (in my experience). He told me that I should try to capture them and then refrigerate them to slow 'em down. I don't know that sounds any more practical. So I'm curious about your thoughts and recommendations. And again, my question is, how on earth do you get this guy to sit still long enough to go through various focuses on different depths of him? What lens were you using (not indicated in your exif data)? Did you use a rail focusing system (I presume you'd have to for stacking)? How many different shots did you take for the stack? Sorry for all the questions but you've mentioned something about which I have a great interest and many questions!
