Works much better in this format than the portrait...I use a slightly hackneyed device when there is a lack of sky or edge detail which is to add a slight dark vignette - it causes the viewer to be pulled back into the image. Those hills have some lovely tones, I would take out some of the blue in the shadows perhaps. You could play around with taking out all the blue in the photo. This would leave you with the autumnal colours only, the sky and water (and hill shadows) falling to monochrome. Give it a try, I'd like to see that.
