Taken over Paatsjoki river east of Ivalo Finland on March 5th 2012. It was a beautiful display lasting about 90 minutes :) It wasn't the strongest most intense display I've witnessed, but strong nonetheless with some beautiful shapes created. The setting was beautiful and the full moon lit up the landscape so well drawing out all its beautiful little details. I am not sure why I like this photo so much, I suppose it's the symmetry between the aurora, and the reflection she casts on the river below, the trees approaching from either side of the photo and the icy hostile appearance of the freezing river.
