Believe it or not, until last week I didn't have a single shot of the Eiffel Tower despite having lived within 15 minutes of Paris for the last 15 years. Taking the opportunity of a Photowalk Paris organised on G+, I took this shot (and others I'll be sharing in the next few weeks) from the Pont de Bir Hakeim. The sky was great that night, with enough clouds to avoid full darkness (especially accounting for the light pollution from Paris itself).

I decided to process this in a non-spectacular, and hopefully subtle way to focus on mood as opposed to glitz. It ended up in a monochrome, with extra toning added. It was processed in Lightroom using XeL B&W (N-Pan Acros EX05 Emulation and Polysulphide 2 toning).

Finally, for what it's worth this photo is illegal, just like any other photo of the Eiffel Tower after dark. Turns out the lights are copyrighted. How stupid is that?
