Ginang Drum
Paranưng

The frame is made of limewood with swell in the middle. The drum has 2 surfaces in which the smaller is covered with goat's skin and the larger with buffalo's skin. The 2 surfaces are stretched by 2 buffalo-skin cords threading through holes around the drum surfaces' margin and being fixed by bamboo pins.Several tintinnabullas are put inside the hollow frame which help to make funny noice when playing the drum.

There is always a pair of Ginang drums played by 2 musicians sitting in a face-to-face position. The role of instrument is adjusting rythms for dance and orchestra.
