Long ago, especially in mining towns, homes were built of whatever materials were at end. Saloons were frequently the first commercial establishments so liquor bottles were plentiful. They were stacked one on top of the other and chinked with mud to keep out the howling cold winds. This image was taken at Calico Ghost Town located near Yermo, California, USA.
