The F-22 IS 5th gen so is the F - 35, the Eurofighter as well as the F-15i and F-16i are considered 4th and a half generation. based on the avionics and missile systems.
Russia is building the Su T50 which is also fifth gen.
And China is building the ninchangchau (or something like that) 27 Which is also fifth generation said to be copied from the F-22 Raptor.

My comment is because it was not unheard of in the past for things to be in use a while before the general populace knew about it (after all the armed forces tend to like a bit of secrecy). I guess the internet and more freedom information has changed that and i need to update my suspicions.

There's no allegedly about it, Eurofighter doesn't qualify (no stealth). Russia, China, Japan, India and South Korea are developing 5G jets - earliest operational date in about 2015 for Russian PAK FA. Then you've got the F-35c which will come into service about 2015. As with most military high-tech these dates will almost certainly slip. There's also talk that the
USAF already has a draft spec for a 6G jet. PS one of the best F22 pics I've seen!
