Holy smoke Scout!! What a great photo. I love these little birds, but have not been able to get anything close to this in-flight shot. They always fly away, never toward or in front of me . . . sensational.

Yes, the hood takes a different shape in flight and I noticed at other times while skimming the pond the hood had different shapes
