Having some time to myself, I borrowed a VW camper and headed off to Dartmoor armed with the camera. A decent sunset on Thursday was followed by an early start of 05:45 to greet the most amazing misty sunrise I have ever seen. I had stayed in the Haytor car park overnight, and awoke to see a blaze of colour out over the valley. With the sun not due to come up for nearly half an hour
I knew this was going to be a beauty.
As the morning wore on, the mist stayed in the valley and picked out the hills so nicely. I really had to calm myself to think straight and not just shoot like crazy. I settled on this comp after some time. A slight crop top and bottom seemed to hone the view more. Desaturating it quite heavily has accentuated the tonal qualities I hope. After a lengthy spell of not shooting this Summer, and missing some amazing sunsets, this was a much needed natural treat. All thoughts and comments gratefully received.
