Machu Picchu seen from the summit of Huayna Picchu

Machu Picchu, Peru —

Huayna Picchu is the hill that usually appears behind Machu Picchu on the most common and best known view taken from the side of the Gate of the Sun (Intipunku), from where each morning a few hundred hikers arrive here and get finally their first sight of the place, after walking 4 days on the mountains along the Inca Trail.
Not as many feel like walking up the slopes of Huayna Picchu. But believe me, this is the cherry on the top, to get there and enjoy a fantastic view down to the Incan city and the deep valleys where the Urubamba river twists and turns on its long journey into the Amazon.
