Moods of Elgol.. Skye and its smaller neighbours that make up the Inner Hebrides are known for their wild, beautiful landscapes of deep lochs and jagged mountains.
The range of hills known as the Cuillin rises from the sea on the far side of Loch Scavaig, 4 to 5 miles from Elgol. I wanted to show the beautiful coloured stones just under the water so I waited till the surf just hit the far rock before disturbing calm water in the foreground. Due to the heavy tides at Elgol, there are a number of rock formations that only appear at certain times.
