After a long day we stoped the boat to enjoy the sunset, just to discover we were not the only ones! This yacaré (yacare caiman) had the same idea (btw, there's no PS involved in the tones, those are the real colors, think I was using my polarized filter though... can't remember).
With its 20,000 km² of marshes, lagoons and rivers, the Esteros de Iberá (Iberá wetlands) are the second-largest wetlands in the world after Pantanal in Brazil and one of the most important reservoirs of fresh water in the contint. The place is a dream for any nature photographer due to its biodiversity and beauty, specially the birds.
Parts of it have been declared Nationa Parks and Local protected natural areas. In 2002 part of it was declared of International Importance by the Ramsar convention. . Iberá is also one of the most important fresh water reservoirs in the continent. In 2002 an area of 245 km² has been listed as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar convention. But, guess what, people are spoling it! the natural areas are being transformed in rice fields and the local government seems to be unable or unwilling to do anything about. Sad, isn't it?
