Hi Chris, very interesting to read what you've written. The image above was taken in the "Haus des deutschen Metallarbeiterverbandes" (House of the German Metal Worker Society) in Berlin. Architects were E. Mendelsohn and R.W. Reichel. The building was finished 1930.
Now I have to search for your image :-)

Great picture - I'd be really interested to know where this is? It is almost identical to the stairs in De La Warr Pavilion, I posted a very similar shot a couple of days ago. De La Warr Pavilion was designed by Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff in 1935. The light is different here and there are more levels in the stairs....
