I spent an entire week, just last week, touring around eastern Oregon. It is an area of spectacular beauty. I spent three nights in the Wallowa Wilderness, which is an amazing place if you’ve never been. Some call the area “little Switzerland.” This morning, I was traveling along a snowy forest road and found a campground that was alongside Eagle Creek. I pulled in and found that it had a gorgeous view of the water.
I really enjoy winter scenes where the trees are covered with a fresh layer of snow, and water scenes where the rocks are also covered by that same fresh layer. I used a polarizer for this shot to gain view of the rocks under the water. I think the golden color of the rocks plays a nice contrast against the fresh, white snow.
