The Grand-Place is the central square of Brussels, and is the most important tourist destination of the city. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Its biggest building is the Brussels City Hall, which was built between 1401 and 1455. It towers 96 meters and is capped by a 3 meter statue of Saint Michael slaying a demon.
According to Victor Hugo, who lived many years in one of the Grand-Place's houses, "it is one of the most beautiful places of the world"...
