This was a beautiful shoot just as the last light was leaving the sky. I underestimated the end of autumn and forgot how quickly darkness comes these days. We set up fast in a cold and wet field and shot as I have not shot in a while - with my friends, in Los Angeles, a good "old fashioned" shoot. I have been planning so many elaborate shoots to do lately, which I am dying to share but can't yet, that it felt good to just calm down and shoot something organic and natural. I haven't done a nude in ages, so this felt right for me.
I was inspired by the moving works of Christian Martin Weiss for this image, and my own love of skin, the way light reflects off of it, and nature. If only all trees began with human souls, how much kinder we would be towards them.
